The PK9 chair is defined by its striking sculptural form, where three satin-brushed stainless spring steel legs converge to support a supple leather seat. Its distinctive shape traces back to a moment of playfulness and observation: Poul Kjærholm was inspired by the imprint of his wife’s body in the sand. During development, Hanne Kjærholm herself tested variations by sitting in boxes of clay, helping refine the chair’s contours into their most natural and ergonomic expression. The result is a piece that marries technical ingenuity with a human, almost elemental intimacy.
