T-02 dining table design draws inspiration from Japanese architectural elements, specifically the recurring theme of wooden slatted walls and panels. The striking yet visually airy pattern of these slats has always captivated me. Tailored for compact spaces, this table features a single base, which offers easier movement compared to a conventional four-legged table.
The base consists of eight slats (four wide and four narrow) and includes a top and bottom cross section. These cross sections are interconnected through half-lap joints and each has eight mortises. The slats, tenoned into both cross sections, create an exceptionally stable structure. The entire table is crafted from solid American white oak.
