The Altar is a minimalist sculptural object created by Brussels-based studio COSEINCORSO as part of their first collection, Les Âmes Simples. Inspired by the prayer kneelers and intimate altars found in the Béguines' rooms, the piece translates quiet devotion into a spare, meditative form that bridges the sacred and the sculptural.

Each element is hand-cut, with visible welds that celebrate the honesty of its construction. Rather than concealing the traces of making, the designers allow these marks to remain legible, reinforcing the object's connection to the human hand and the slow rhythms of craft. The delicate assembly of thin steel plates creates an almost immaterial presence, allowing the object to appear as if it were floating in space, a quality that feels particularly apt for a piece rooted in contemplative practice.
