The Upholstered Easy Armchair is a refined re-edition of the original lounge chair, first designed for offices and residences in Chandigarh and Ahmedabad. Defined by its signature compass legs and precise proportions, this version introduces structural refinements for contemporary use while maintaining the integrity of its materiality.
Offered in three distinct upholstery options, the chair can be customized in Velvet / COM, allowing for personal fabric selections. The Andaman / Bompuka edition features a cotton-linen blend by textile maker Zanav, woven in a simple Panama weave and vat-dyed for subtle tonal variations. The Sekhpura ‘Wild’ Silk edition showcases a richly textured silk, preserving the raw character of the fiber.
Each edition is complemented by a carefully developed wood finish. Charcoal (Z7), designed for Andaman / Bompuka, is achieved through hand-applied black stain and sealer, followed by steel brushing for a subtly textured effect. P1 Black, paired with Sekhpura ‘Wild’ Silk, involves layered black staining, light brushing, and a final application of hard wax oil, lending the wood a deep, matte patina.
